Details
Around the Halle aux Houblons and along the Grand'Rue, you can see a number of remarkable houses, mainly dating from the 18th century.
N° 111: The Maison Cassina, named after Giuseppe Cassina, a wealthy Italian merchant. Here, the usual balcony of private mansions is replaced by a niche housing a statue of Saint Joseph with child, patron saint of the patron.
N° 142: Former hotel of the Abbey of Koenigsbrück, a village near Haguenau. All that remains of this hotel is a remarkable balcony adorned with a rocaille cartouche. Until the French Revolution, this residence served as lodgings for the collector of tithes and as a pied-à-terre for the abbey's nuns during their stays in town.
N° 127: The street's only example of the Renaissance style.
N° 157: The house at n° 157 is very old. It was restored in the 18th century by the Italian merchant Joseph Paganetto, whose initials appear in the ironwork above the front door.
