Barth house

Details

The municipal architect Georges-Joseph Barth, who designed the Hôpital Bourgeois, built and lived in this hotel. The windows are decorated with mascarons, i.e. sculpted heads. Those on the first floor represent the four seasons. On the 1st floor, the balcony features rounded and curved corners. Its brackets are decorated with rocaille and flowers. Upstairs, on either side of the balcony, these masks depict two couples, one bourgeois, the other rural.
