Until the beginning of the 20th century, Haguenau had a particularly lively livestock market. On certain days in September, more than 1000 piglets were put up for sale there and were in contact with large livestock. The Tourist Office organises the Marché des Terroirs, a farm in the city, on the 1st Sunday of July. There are many regional specialities, local crafts, demonstrations of trades and farm animals. Musical entertainment and folk dances are offered throughout the day.
