St Georges' Parish Presbytery
Details
The presbytery of Saint George's Parish was built in 1754. The windows on the ground floor are adorned with a child's head, while upstairs they are adorned with that of a man wearing a helmet. Look at the right corner of the house... A niche houses a neo-gothic statue of the Virgin and Child... This statue indicated that the house was inhabited by members of the clergy. Walk a little further and stop in front of the wall of the Presbytery Garden... Behind the garden, you can see part of the imposing roof of the Grange Dîmière, a 16th century building owned by the Saint Georges work of art and used as a warehouse for the farmers' royalties in kind, i. e. one-tenth of their harvests. This is evidenced by the many windows in the barn roof, designed to ventilate the collected crops.
