Zuckmantel's House
Details
The Zuckmantel house was built in the mid-15th century. It features an oriel, a closed balcony on the façade, carved with Renaissance motifs from the mid-16th century. On the left, it depicts St. George in armor fighting the dragon, while on the right, the coat of arms of the Zuckmantel family, wealthy merchants who owned the house, is now unrecognizable. They were erased during the French Revolution. The building has been occupied in turn by merchants and craftsmen. In the early 1900s, one of these merchants enlarged his shop windows, causing part of the balcony to disappear, including the symbols of the bakery profession.
