Morschwiller
Details
Morschwiller is a French municipality located in the historical and cultural region of Alsace, with a population of 597 inhabitants. With an area of 462 hectares, Morschwiller is located in the northeast of the Kochersberg between Pfaffenhoffen and Brumath. The village is crossed from east to west by the departmental road 419 which connects the two cities. Historically, the first mention of the village dates back to 771. Morschwiller was an old imperial village and then royal village of the (Bailliage) Bailiwick of Haguenau. There are various places and monuments such as:
- War memorial located in the centre of the village
- Church of St. Etienne (Catholic) built in 1840 by Louis-Martin Zegowitz
- Chapel Saint Ulrich built by private individuals in 1832
- The marked path and the place called "Aux Acacias"
