Brumath
Details
Brumath is one of the few sites in Alsace to have been inhabited and frequented continuously for more than five thousand years. Its subsoil is still full of countless remains from all periods. Part of this impressive collection can be seen at the Archaeological Museum of Brumath. For those who prefer walks in nature, Brumath offers varied landscapes on the banks of the Zorn at the place called "l'Abfluss" or along the "Sentier d'Ici et d'Ailleurs", taking walkers on a discovery of the Brumath forest. In summer, the lake is a choice destination, both for its pleasant swimming beach and for its proximity to the Adventure and Leisure Park (treetop adventure course). Located about twenty kilometres from Strasbourg, Brumath is accessible by two motorway exits, but also two SNCF stations. A dynamic and commercial city, you will find a cinema complex and many restaurants. If you like unusual encounters, take a look at the Jardin de l'Escalier. Don't miss the highlights of the traditional "Foire de l'oignon" at the end of September and the "Sentier Fantastique", a family walk through the natural surroundings highlighted and enhanced by shows at nightfall at the end of October.
