Kaltenhouse is a village located in the historical and cultural region of Northern Alsace. Kaltenhouse" would come from "Kaltenhausen", which literally means "cold houses" in modern German. But it seems that the translation is more like "Celtic house", since some remains from the Celtic period have been discovered.
