The small municipality of Rottelsheim is located north of Brumath. It has 323 inhabitants and is best known for its large orchards and is called the "Apple Capital". The apple is also the mascot of the "S'Rottelser Blattel", the municipal newspaper. The municipality of Rottelsheim distinguished itself in 2016 by winning "3 dragonflies", which reward its commitment in favour of nature. Every year, the school children participate in the spring cleaning and a shared organic garden has just been created behind the town hall. In addition to the organic communal garden, residents can meet and exchange ideas at the playground enlived with a multisports ground, during the monthly "Kaffekranzel" meetings or within the various associations in the municipality.
