Uhrwiller
Details
Uhrwiller is a rural village of 720 inhabitants that is proud of its flowering and landscaping with a very good quality of life. As far as the built heritage is concerned, we still have many half-timbered houses. The majority of these houses were built between 1800 and 1900, the oldest was built in 1789. At school level, we have a pedagogical group with the municipality of Engwiller. This merging involves about 90 students. An extracurricular welcome is in place in Engwiller and a micro-nursery in Uhrwiller. Seven associations animate and support our village. Since 2007 we have had a wooden boiler room with a heating network, we have also built a shed to store the forest chips that come from the wood of our forest, the roof of the shed is composed of 850 square meters of photovoltaic panels that produce about 100 000 kilowatt-hour of electricity per year. Uhrwiller is fully in line with renewable energies and sustainable development.
